LSC-CyFair ECF Chromebook Orientation In-Person

Physical attendance at the ECF Chromebook Orientation is required to participate in the distribution. ECF Chromebooks are intended for individuals who do not have a device (laptop or desktop computer) that meets their work or school needs. Orientation appointments will last approximately 30 minutes. You must have an HCPL Library Card prior to attending your orientation appointment. If you don’t have a card you can apply for an HCPL Digital Access Card here https://www.hcpl.net/services/iknow-card.

Description:	Required orientation to receive a laptop via the FCC's Emergency Connectivity Fund (EFC). Registrants who arrive more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed to enter orientation and must reschedule for a future orientation session. Laptops are available for checkout (while supplies last). REQUIREMENTS* Must register at least one hour before the orientation begins Must arrive within 5 minutes of the orientation start time Recipients must have a valid HCPL library card number with them before they enter orientation Recipients must be ages 5 and older All recipients must attend a mandatory orientation (including children, ages 5+) One laptop per verified library account/number allowed
Additional Info:	In-person orientation is required for all EFC recipients, including children ages 5+.

ECF Chromebook Orientation Policy Individuals interested in receiving an ECF Chromebook must register for an orientation at one of the participating Harris County Public Libraries at least one hour before the orientation begins. Participants not registeredat the start of the orientation time are not eligible to attend the orientation and will need to register for a future orientation appointment. Individuals interested in receiving an ECF Chromebook must be 5 years of age or older. Parents may be asked to provide proof of age or school attendance. (mayinclude school ID, report card, birth certificate or another official legal document that the host library requests) Participants attending the orientation must arrive within 5 minutes of their appointedtime to attend the orientation and receive a Chromebook. Participants arriving 5 minutes aftertheir orientation starttime may be required to register for a future orientation. Participants attending the orientation must have their library card number with them to be eligible for a Chromebook at the distribution. Participants that do not have their library card number with them at their Chromebook Orientation appointment will be asked to register for a future orientation. One Chromebook will be distributed to each eligible participant attending the orientation. Participants must be physically present during the entire Orientation toreceive a Chromebook. Participants cannot receive a Chromebook to take to a family member not physically present at the orientation. Participants who already received a Chromebook in the in 2022 distribution are inelligibleto participate in the 2023 distribution. Chromebooks distributed in 2022 or2023 that were lost or stolen are not eligible for replacement. Chromebooks will be distributed in order in which participants registeredafter the Orientation video is presented.
